Needed a break, checked the internet for somewhere else to go, i.e. not Sodwana and Ponta do Ouro… I am a holiday diver. Drove to Guinjata, had a Birthday, saw 7 Manta Rays on Manta reef….. Actually dived Manata Reef a lot…. But the one dive was spectacular… eyeballing mantas who staye to get cleaned, they come in and stop…

Passing tourists who were off to Barra often stopped for one night to dive Manta from Guinjata, so as it was off season, they wanted to dive it and I was happy to dive it again and again after seing the cleaning station for these giant spaceships.

So what about My life partner Bev, well she loved it as a non-diver who goes everywhere with me, she was very impressed with the resort and the accomodation, so if you like paradise beaches it is a great resort.

When we went there were potholes in the road after Xai-Xai, but 6 weeks later a friend had an anniversary at Xai-Xai, (no diving off season), so tempted to abscond, I headed to the far end of the town and saw the new road (no more potholes!!) had reached Xai-Xai an went all the way to Inhambane.

If you fly to Guinjata they waive the charge for tank and weights, well at least they were doing that when I was there in August 2009. Great place to do a PADI rescue course.
